Weekend Roundup: July 15, 2011

• This has been the week of Yellow Treasuries- my yarns have been featured in 4 beautiful yellow treasuries just this week.
• I could really use a Summer Pie Party, from Saveur.
• Tara is always motivating- I liked this post about selling high end.
• I love Frida Kahlo, so when I saw this Etsy Find email in my inbox I got pretty excited.
• Sunrise Fiber Co just came out with some new awesomeness- including new colorways and a brand new yarn base called Lace Silk Merino.
• Have you seen my besties' blog? "Girl With Glasses" is raw and beautiful (or maybe it's just 'cause I love her so much).
• There is less than 1 week left to sign up for the mailing list and be entered to win a free skein of yarn! I'll be drawing the winner next Thursday (my 1 year blog anniversary!).
• This month's Phat Fiber box, with the theme Art Nouveau, goes on sale Sunday at 10am & 5pm CDT. If you want one head over because they go out fast! I'll be sharing my sample contribution Monday, so keep an eye out for that too.

Etsy Find Monday: Never Say Never Again

I totally forgot this morning's post until the last minute... That's what kind of weekend I had. There were new friends, and flaky friends, and old friends. Plus a whole lot of dancing, wine, and laughter, and even some art thrown in. It was exactly what I needed. Today I have to come back to the real world, which involves standing on my feet for 7 hours, shipping lots of orders from the weekend, and dealing with my grandpa's quick decline and impending death. That's not even covering the sink full of yarn that I've been meaning to dye for the last week. All the stuff that's not so fun, but I hope the spark I had this weekend will keep me going.

Whenever life gets hard all I want to do is escape; run away with my little red train case and my best friend to some Mexican mountain village or a place that demands fun- like New Orleans. I chose today's Etsy Find with that in mind:
